April Ross

April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. Ross is among the few women beach volleyball athletes who have achieved this feat. Alix Klineman, playing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games is hoping to secure her third medal. Ross aims to earn the Olympic the first medal of gold, but she is also aiming to earn even more. It may well be that this is her only opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. However, she's convinced that top prizes are in reach. Ross through NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing very well, or even at all, it could be able to win gold. So I'm going to take the chance too. Ross was born in 1982 in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. Along with participating in a variety of sports, Ross was also a student at Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran track in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors in her time as a college athlete. Although she was a pro at indoor volleyball however, it was evident that her skills were above average. As a time at the high school level, according to her college biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. Thanks to her hard work, she was honored as the 1999 Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. The year 2000 was the time she was awarded her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross is playing with Klineman since 2017, but Ross's beach game was well-established long before that. In actual Ross has won a number of major tournaments in her career with two partners. One of them is a legend. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, between 2007 and 2013. She also worked with Klineman and herself. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who took home the title of world champion alongside Kessy in 2009, was also significant on the an international level. The 2012 Olympic Games, they received the gold medal. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold beating them to it. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement after she had retired. Together, they won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Following high school, and for a few many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross played for the USC Trojans as an NCAA. The time she spent at the school was one to remember. In 2000, as a freshman, her play earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. In addition, she helped her Trojans to reach the Final Four. The Trojans were devastated by a personal tragedy during her sophomore year. However, she managed to become an All-American once more. Over the course of her final two seasons she led the Trojans up to the summit and won consecutive national titles. She was a great volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female college volleyball player. Ross took a course in international relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the opportunity to see her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. Ross's mom passed away due to breast cancer while she was a sophomore at USC. Ross holds her mother close to her heart. Margie has always been a source of inspiration to her on and off the beach.
