April Ross

April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is among a few female beach volleyball players who be able to do so. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and is set to join the team in Tokyo. Ross hopes to win more than her first Olympic medal. At 39 this may be her last chance to achieve it. Nevertheless, she remains convinced of winning top awards. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that when the team performs consistently or well it could be able to win gold. Then I will also take the chance to have chance. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. Her athletic career was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of different sports. Along with the indoor game, she also played basketball and jogged track as a pre-collegiate athlete. She clearly was the top in the game of indoor volleyball. Her college biography states that she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker and setter during her volleyball career in high school. To honor her achievements she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her for volleyball. Although Ross and Klineman are a couple since the year 2017, Klineman had already been a major participant on the beaches even before the pair formed. She actually won multiple major tournaments with two different partners, among them a volleyball icon. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 to 2013. She also worked with Klineman and herself. Together, Kessy Ross was a force on the international stage, claiming the world championship in 2009. They were awarded a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends who was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, edged them out to win the gold medal. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. Together, they took home beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics in the year the year 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC during her college days, years before becoming a professional. And her run in the Trojans' ranks was an impressive one. In 2000, as a freshman she fought her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and was also an All-American. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans get to their first Final Four. She was devastated by a tragic incident in her second year, but she managed to become an All-American again. Through her last two years in the program she led the Trojans up to the summit of the mountain netting successive national titles. Ross was an excellent player on the court, and was awarded the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female college volleyball player. Ross, an USC international relations student, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross did not get to witness Ross reach beach volleyball's highest level. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001. Ross was an USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. Ross is still awed by her parents who passed away. Also, Margie remains a source of inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday life.
