Zoe Saldana, born June 19, 1978, was the son of Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Her father is Dominican as was her mother, while her father is Puerto Rican. Her family was from Queens, New York. The family she was born into went to Dominican Republic at the age of 10, and there they would spend the next seven year. Zoe developed a passion for dance performance while living within the Republic of Dominicana. She began training with the ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy, where she studied ballet and other forms of dance.
